Picking a Fight with Cancer: BodyPlex-Dawsonville Hosts 90-Mile Charity Ride, Benefits Lance Armstrong Foundation

Published Sep 16, 2008

The BodyPlex–Dawsonville (160 Nordson Overlook) is pleased to announce “Ride It Like You Can Cure It.” On Saturday, October 18, at 9:00 am, a group of motivating BodyPlex instructors will lead seven individual 45 minute Les Mills RPM® (Raw Power in Motion) cycling classes to raise funds in honor of the 10.5 million American cancer survivors, in support of the 1.4 million people who will receive a cancer diagnosis this year, and in memory of the 1500 people who die of cancer every day.

Cancer doesn't discriminate, and neither do we. Whether you ride, volunteer, or donate, your participation is one more powerful weapon in the crucial fight against cancer.

Membership at The BodyPlex is NOT REQUIRED to participate in the ride.

All seven rides will be the equivalent of 90-100 miles in the saddle, but do as few or as many as you wish.  Each individual ride (45 minutes each) will cost $15. Prizes will be raffled off during each ride and at the conclusion of the event. Riding is not required to participate in the raffle. Tickets are $5 each. All donations and sponsorships are welcome.

All proceeds will be donated to The Lance Armstrong Foundation to support their endeavor to unite people to fight cancer believing that unity is strength, knowledge is power, and attitude is everything.

For information or to purchase a ride, contact The BodyPlex-Dawsonville at (706) 429-0006 or via e-mail to Heather_Love@bellsouth.net.
