Due to overwhelming popularity Dawson County Parks and Recreation is proud to announce additional sessions of Adult Water Aerobics.
Adult Water Aerobics will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 - 11 am with a session getting underway on June 24. Cost is $60 per person per session. Register for this session by June 20. Another session begins August 25 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 – 7pm. Registration for this session ends July 28.
“Aquatic fitness classes offer a safe, comfortable and efficient way for people of all ages, sizes and fitness levels to get and stay fit,” states Water Aerobics Instructor Tonya Jones. “Best of all, you burn about 700 calories or more in just a one hour swim class.”
No swimming skills are needed for water aerobics. According to Jones, this activity works nearly every muscle group in one workout while building lean tissue and burning body fat. “Water aerobics also allows individuals to participate who might otherwise be physically unable to enjoy a traditional exercise environment,” Jones says.
Adult Swim continues at Veterans Memorial Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer from 6 – 8 pm. Admission is $1 daily.
Enroll now for Adult Water Aerobics Monday – Friday in person at Rock Creek Sports Complex or online at www.dawsoncounty.org. Click on Parks & Rec., then Registration Information. For additional information please contact Buffie Henson at 706.344.3646 or bhenson@dawsoncounty.org.
