After only two losses in the regular season, the Dawson Co. 9 & 10 year old Maroon Tigers won a very hard fought game with Chestatee two weeks ago. It was a great win considering they tied Chestatee in a game earlier in the year. The game went into double overtime and ended in a tie.
This past weekend was a playoff game and was the Tigers toughest test. The Tigers defeated their arch rivals, the Lumpkin Co. Indians. The Indians had not lost a game all season until they met the Tiger's tough defense. The final score was 12 to 7.
This weekend the Tigers face their toughest challenge yet. The two losses that the Tigers suffered came at the hands of a very persistent Jefferson team, and guess who the Tigers play this weekend-The Jefferson Dragons!! If the Tigers beat the Dragons this weekend they will play in the Championship game on Nov. 10th at Chestateee High School. The game this weekend is at Lumpkin Co., and the Tigers would very much appreciate all the support that they can get from the residents of Dawson Co. GO TIGERS!!!
