This Friday, March 28, 2008, the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office will meet the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office on the basketball court for an exciting basketball game and fundraising event.  Come watch law enforcement officers from Dawson and Lumpkin Counties face one in the Dawson County High School gym for a 'March Madness' event of their own.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will go to the family of Chris Sams who was killed in a car accident in Dawson County last month.  Mr. Sams was a former employee of the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Sam's wife was pregnant and lost their baby due to injuries suffered in the tragic accident.
