The 9-10 Lady Tiger All-Star Team

The 9-10 Lady Tiger All-Star Team won the Class C State Tournament hosted by Pickens County Recreation Department. They defeated teams from Pickens County, Heard County and Brantley County to win the State Championship with a perfect 7 wins and 0 losses in district and state competition.

Sheyenne Seabolt was the leading scorer for the Lady Tigers, averaging 14 points per game. Other top scorers were Ashley Parker, Ansley Costley, Hannah Moye and Brooke Duffy. The Lady Tigers, led by Head Coach Tanya Porter and Assistant Coach Jeff Parker, outscored their opponents 224 to 129 in the two tournaments.

"This was a total team success," said Porter.  "These girls were able to come from teams where they were the 'star' and put their own personal success aside to fill their role on this all star team.  For some girls, this even meant not getting to play as much as they had during regular season.  I would like for everyone to know how unselfishly these girls played together.  They did a remarkable job coming together as a team and only then could we experience the success we did."  Further, "Every girl was just as important to that success as the next on our team.  I hope that's the lesson they take from this experience."

When Robinson Elementary 4th grader Jordan Moore, was asked how it felt to be a champion,  she said, "GREAT! It was a really good feeling that I won't ever forget."

The championship trophy is proudly displayed at Rock Creek Park.

The 11-12 Lady Tiger All Star Team placed second in their state tournament which was held in Rabun County. These girls lost a heartbreaker to Rabun County once again. Rabun had defeated our girls last weekend in the district tournament but they did not give up and fought their way back through the state tournament bracket defeating Breman and Richmond Hill to face Rabun again for the state championship.
