About Bill Elliott Racing: Hard work and a passion for the art of racing turned an eager young driver from a small Georgia town into a NASCAR Winston Cup champion. But it was the strength and support of his family that first launched Bill Elliott into racing. These are the same principles that Bill has decided to build upon as he develops the young talent in his family.
George Elliott, the family patriarch, along with his wife Mildred, started bringing their three boys, Ernie, Dan and Bill, to the racetrack as mere children. The whole family was passionate about racing and it wasn’t long before the Elliott boys were behind the wheel. During events at local tracks like the Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga., the Elliotts could see their youngest son Bill had a raw, natural talent for the sport.
Since 1976, Elliott has participated in over 756 Cup series races, achieved 44 wins, and collected 55 career poles. Bill also has participated in well over 100 combined races in Busch, Truck, IROC and hometown dirt track races. With all of his incredible success, he still remains humble, stating, "We are all motivated by certain things. Of course, winning is one of them, but for me, the fans have always been the biggest motivational factor. I've said this over and over—our fans are the backbone of this sport and they are the reason we are able to do what we do.” Bill Elliott's devotion to both his sport and his supporters equals his talent, making him a legend with both his team and his fans. Bill is NACAR’s All-Time Most Popular Driver—winning the award voted on by the fans a record 16 times before retiring from its eligibility in 2002.
Elliott has combined his passion for racing with his commitment to family through the Bill Elliott Racing Team, based in Dawsonville, Ga. The driver line-up includes Bill’s son Chase Elliott and his nephew Trey Poole. In 2007, Chase will compete in the Legends Racing Bandolero Series while Trey will drive in the Semi Pro Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway and select events at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
