The U14 Forsyth Fusion Blue Soccer Team, coached by Jose Carrera, once again proved they have what it takes, by winning the 2006 Concorde Fire Challenge Cup.

Despite torrential rains during day one of the Concorde Cup, Fusion Blue managed a 2-1 win over Silverbacks Black, followed by field closings and venue change for day two of the tournament. The rain cleared only to make room for extreme cold and gusting wind...yet Fusion Blue pulled off a 2-1 victory over Athens YMCA followed by a nail-biting tied match against TYSA, which led to a scoreless overtime and then into penalty kicks, ending in a 2-1 victory for Fusion Blue.

Team members are: Michael Anderson, Jaime Arango, Washington Cafferatta, Drew Foster, Gary Freeland, Corey Hitchings, Joey Kaye, Corey O’Brien, Dave Orenstein, Cameron Ramsey, Zach Schorr, Daniel Shaw, Alex Sierota, Zach Stopek and Enrique Tomas.

The team plans to compete as defending champions in the President's Cup, a State Cup tournament in late March.
