You probably have heard about the proposal to turn the federally owned Warhill Park, in Dawson County and in Forsyth County, into a privately owned marina / hotel / conference center. If not, check out www.savewarhillpark.com.

This website has the complete proposal, along with information about what you can do to try to prevent this disaster. This is a beautiful park, mostly wooded, that is enjoyed by thousands of people each year. The idea of turning it into a huge marina / hotel / conference center would destroy this entire area of the lake as far as recreation is concerned. There is a public meeting Tuesday, July 12, at which time the public will not be allowed to speak. We would appreciate anything you could do to help in the effort to oppose this ill-conceived proposal.
