The problems that have come to light at Forsyth Central High School this past school year are enormous. Forsyth has the highest number of drug incidences. This is due to the laissez faire attitude of the school administration and lack of leadership at all levels.
Here is what we know. There has been a drug and doping problem at Forsyth Central High School in the athletic programs. As of yet, there is no routine randomized drug screening for any athlete.
There was a poisoning in the baseball program, and yet they allow the perpetrators of the crime to continue to play sports. This is ruining it for the good kids who are trying to do the right thing.
The school administration relies on kids to come forward, but how can anyone come forward if they fear retaliation. This simply is not working. We commend South Forsyth for taking a tougher stance on drugs and doping on their Lacrosse Team. They have managed to clean out the riff raff successfully by doing random drug testing. This is leadership at South Forsyth and is sorely lacking at Forsyth Central.
There have been kids mixing up concoctions of performance enhancers at Forsyth Central High School in the weight room and taking performance enhancers before games and practices. Performance enhancers have even been seen on a coach's desk. There have been kids coming in sick to the nurses' office from taking such products. The nurses drug cabinet has even been broken into several times.
There even was a hazing that occurred in the basketball program at Central, but no one is willing to talk about it. This nonsense is happening because of lack of leadership. The thugs, who are in the minority, have all the power. The good kids operate under fear. They have no power. And if you have lack of leadership, this continues to add to the problems. Shame on Forsyth Central High School for giving the thugs all the power and the good kids no power at all.
