Wind Advisory for Dawson County Remains in Effect Until 9 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, a wind advisory remains in effect until 9 p.m. EST this evening for far North Georgia, including Dawsonville.

An area of strong winds moved into North Georgia early this morning, ahead of an approaching cold front.  South to Southwest winds of 20-30 MPH are expected, with gusts over 35 MPH, primarily at higher elevations in the North Georgia Mountains.

A wind advisory means that sustained winds of 20-35 MPH or wind gusts of at least 35 MPH are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially high profile vehicles.
