AmeriVap to Move to Dawson County

Originally Published Mar 5, 2010, 4:17pm (Updated Mar 5, 2010, 4:17pm)

AmeriVap Systems has elected to move its corporate headquarters and operations facilities to Dawson County, according to the Development Authority of Dawson County.  AmeriVap is a national leader in dry stream sanitizing technology utilized by the food, medical, transportation and hospitality industries.  The company enjoys sales nationwide.

“The decision by AmeriVap is excellent news for our county,” said Charlie Auvermann, executive director of the Development Authority. “This is a smart, green company that operates in an expanding business sector.”

AmeriVap will be moving from West Atlanta to 31 Successful Way located off of Carlisle Road in the County’s central commercial district.  AmeriVap and its wholly owned subsidiary, Xtreme Steam, assemble, sell and maintain commercial steam cleaning equipment for food processing facilities, medical clinics and hospitals, commercial aviation companies as well as hotels, motels and restaurant chains.

With the growing concerns of pandemic infections, continued problems with unsanitary food processing facilities and the general movement toward higher levels of sanitation, AmeriVap has seen significant growth in sales of their food processing line sanitizing equipment and portable equipment used for sanitizing commercial aircraft interiors and hotel/motel rooms. The move will involve approximately 20 employees.

AmeriVap expects to begin moving their headquarters and facilities in April.  The Authority is still in discussions with the company on Recovery Zone Bonds and Georgia capital investment tax credits.

“There are a number of factors that came into play with AmeriVap’s consideration of Dawson County.  They looked at reduced commute times for the majority of their employees, the quality of life for their employees and the ability to expand as their facility as the business grows in the future,” Auvermann said.

Following from the recent announcement about the move of Monolith Hospitality LLC to Dawson County, AmeriVap becomes the second business to announce their move here since the beginning of 2010.

Auvermann noted, “To attract quality businesses such as these takes time and a number of meetings.  However, it also means having attractive locations, the right price, the amenities these employers expect and having a team approach to facilitating these critical moves to our county.”
