2009 to Mark Another First for Southern Catholic College

The year 2009 will usher in Southern Catholic College’s first-ever graduating class. On May 16, 43 college graduates will celebrate their accomplishments with full ceremony at Southern Catholic College. A residential liberal arts college located in Dawsonville, Southern Catholic College is the first and only Catholic college in the state of Georgia.
 
Founding President Dr. Jerry Ashcroft opened the doors of Southern Catholic College in 2005 with the mission to educate young people under moral and ethical Christian principles. Offering a strong liberal arts and business curriculum coupled with daily mass led by Father Brian Higgins, the campus’s full-time chaplain, Southern Catholic College strives to meet both the educational and spiritual needs of students.
 
The current student body is comprised of students from 26 states, where they reap the benefits of a quality education in a Christian environment coupled with a variety of extra-curricular activities including an Arts Club, Cross Country, Golf, Tennis, and Soccer, as well as access to a fully equipped fitness center and swimming pool.
 
Southern Catholic College is located at 330 Southern Catholic Drive in Dawsonville. The Administration Office is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and can be reached by calling (706) 344-4000. Prospective students can visit www.southerncatholic.org.
