Tribute to Corporal Matthew Phillips: For it is on this day, a hero will pass our way

Published Jul 24, 2008

In honor of Corporal Phillips, citizens from Dawson , Lumpkin, Hall and Forsyth will be placing 200 flags on Hwy. 9 from Ingram's Funeral Home to Coal Mountain Baptist Church on Saturday, July 26th at 8:00 am. The stakes for the flags will be driven along the route Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm.

The stakes are ten feet tall and the flags are four by six feet. Volunteers are welcome to come and assist us Friday afternoon and Saturday morning as we prepare for our tribute to Corporal Matthew Phillips.

We will meet again Saturday, July 26th at 12:25 pm as we line up from Ingram's Funeral Home to Coal Mountain Baptist Church to pay our respect to Corporal Phillips and his family. We ask everyone to fall in line with us.
