September 12, 1923 – August 15, 2008

Taylor Grant, 84, of Dawsonville died Friday August 15, 2008 at the Gold City Nursing Center following a period of declining health.

Born in Crisp County, he had lived in the Atlanta area and in Cumming before moving to Dawson County in 1984.  While in south Georgia, Mr. Grant worked in farming.  He was employed in a cotton mill in Atlanta and worked in the tannery in Buford until it burned after which he was employed by Lamar Sutteth until he retired.  He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Lona Mae Grant and parents, Egbert and Evie Grant.

Surviving are his daughter, Connie Wade, Cumming; sons, Donnie Grant, Dawsonville, Thurmond Joseph Grant, Cartersville, James Taylor Grant, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Sonya Wade, Amy Wade, Bradley Grant, Tony Wade.

Funeral services will be held Sunday August 17, 2008 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Emory Samples will officiate.  Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends after 2 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
