September 7, 1934 – July 6, 2008

Sue Mooney, 73, of Cumming died Sunday July 6, 2008 at Northside Hospital-Cherokee following a sudden illness.

A native of Dawson County, she had been living in Cumming for the past 16 years.  Mrs. Mooney was a homemaker and a member of Winters Chapel Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence L. “Snake” Mooney; daughter, Connie Grindle; parents, Herbert and Cleo Gilleland; and brother, Herbert Gilleland, Jr.

Surviving are her sons and daughters in law, Mike and Sylvia Mooney, Augusta, Randy and Lisa Mooney, Sparta; step son and daughter in law, Freddie and Pam Mooney, Tennessee; sister in law, Harriett Gilleland, Dawsonville, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 9, 2008 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Hugh Fields will officiate.  Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
