July 16, 1966 – June 15, 2008

Michael J. Alldred, 41, of Dahlonega died Sunday June 15, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah following an extended illness.

Born in Orlando, Florida, he had lived in Lumpkin County for 31 years having moved from Cherokee County.  Mr. Alldred was a 1984 graduate of Lumpkin County High School and a 1988 graduate of North Georgia College and State University.  He worked in retail management and was formerly manager of the Winn Dixie in Roswell and Adidas in Dawsonville.  He was of the Catholic faith.  An avid outdoorsman, he loved camping, fishing and all outdoor sports.  Michael had a big heart and had a compassion for helping others and was an inspiration to his brothers.

Surviving are his parents, Jim and Ellen Alldred, Dawsonville; brothers and sister in law, Joseph Alldred, Charlotte, NC, Brian Alldred, Dahlonega, Jamie and Cas Alldred, Dahlonega, Chris Alldred, Charlotte, NC; nieces, Savannah Alldred, Autumn Alldred and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday June 19, 2008 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Msgr. Stephen Churchwell will officiate.  Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
