Lula B. Helton, 76, of Dawsonville died Tuesday August 19, 2009 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness.

Mrs. Helton was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. While her first love was that of a homemaker and grandmother, for several years she was a floral designer at K-Mart in Gainesville and for the past ten years at Ingles in Dawsonville. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was preceded in death by her husband, R. C. Helton; daughter, Karen Helton and parents, John and Rena Bruce.

Surviving are her children, Donna and Tryon Hardigree, Dawsonville, Darrell and Christine Helton, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jared Hardigree, Dawsonville, Cameron Hardigree, Dawsonville, Thomas Lamb, Dawsonville; sisters, Lawana Brown, Marietta, Sarah Henson, Ellijay.

Funeral services will be held Friday August 22, 2008 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Gravitt will officiate. Interment will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
