James M. Holman, 70, of Dahlonega died Wednesday September 17, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Monterey, Tennessee, he had lived in Lumpkin County for the past year having moved from Cumming. For many years Mr. Holman worked as an automobile mechanic after which he was employed by Pacific Electric and then by Phillips & Brooks until his retirement. He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie Green.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Janie Sue Holman, Dahlonega; children, James and Peggy Holman, Dahlonega, Dona and Kevin Bowen, Cumming, Cindy LaFrance, Dahlonega, Patty and Lewis Sullens, Dahlonega; sister in law, Tricia Barnes, Cedar Bluff, AL; grandchildren, Winston Scott, J. C. Holman, Kimberly Holman, Greg Scott, Wesley Scott, Alex Bowen, Beth Scott, Jackson Sullens.
Funeral services will be held Friday September 19, 2008 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ken Anderson will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
