Charles William Barger, 92, of Dawsonville died Tuesday July 29, 2008.
Born in Bartow County, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 25 years having moved from Rockmart. Mr. Barger retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 30 years of service. After moving to Dawson County, he took a position with Murray Guards and retired in 2000. He was a deacon at Kilough Church by the Lake, was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II where he served in the Pacific Theater and was awarded the Silver Star. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Lamar Barger.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Clara Daniel Barger, Dawsonville; daughter and son in law, LaDale and David Britt, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Angie and Tony Western, Beth and Charlie Hill, Allen Barger, and four great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Saturday August 2, 2008 at 1 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Jeff Burrell, Rev. Dan Charles and will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
