Ted Bearden has been in funeral service for over 30 years. His career began in the early ‘70s working part time for Ford Banister while still in high school. Following 15 years at H. M. Patterson & Son, Bearden then returned to his hometown and purchased and took over operations of Banister’s.

In addition, Bearden serves as Dawson County Coroner; member Board of Directors of the Independent Funeral Directors of Georgia; Vice-president of the Georgia Coroner's Association; Board of Directors of United Community Bank; plays with the bluegrass group Little Mountain; member and past president of the Rotary Club of Dawson County; and is a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
