Plaque Unveiled at Dawson County Law Enforcement Center

Published Feb 11, 2008

On Thursday, February 7, 2008, Dawson County Board of Commissioners Chairman Mike Berg and Sheriff Billy Carlisle unveiled a plaque recognizing the completion of the Dawson County Law Enforcement Center.

Sheriff Carlisle opened the presentation by thanking everyone for attending. “It has been great to have this building and all of us back in one building working together with operations running smoother,” he announced. Sheriff Carlisle thanked the Board of Commissioners--past and present--as well as the jail committee. “It’s really amazing,” he continued, “to see other counties visit the building. When they see what we have, they want to bring these ideas back to their (respective counties).”

Chairman Berg also thanked everyone for attending and emphasized the Center is “a labor of love,” noting those who worked on the building, including the committee that started the project and those that participated in the redesign and completion.

Berg echoed Carlisle’s sentiments about people viewing the Center as a “state of the art” functioning building. “We are so blessed in this county,” he added, “to have a sheriff’s department and a Board of Commissioners that work well together.”
