ELLIJAY –A 39-year-old Dalton man died Tuesday when he lost control of his tractor-trailer on Georgia 136 in Gilmer County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The rig driven by Willie Lee Wiley overturned Tuesday afternoon after he lost control of the tractor-trailer while negotiating a curve on the rural two-lane highway, a patrol spokesman said.

The accident occurred shortly before 1 p.m., according to the state patrol.

Wiley’s rig overturned, going off the Georgia 136 highway and rolled down an embankment, state patrol reports show.

The rig came to rest after striking a cluster of hardwoods, patrol officials said.

Troopers say Wiley was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
