Luckie Named Dawson County Emergency Services Employee of the Year

Published Dec 28, 2007

The Dawson County Rotary Club has named Lillie Luckie as Dawson County Emergency Services Employee of the Year for 2007.  In a ceremony held at the Gold Creek Golf and Country Club, Luckie was presented the award by Rotary Club Assistant District Governor and Past President Kevin Tanner.

Luckie, a paramedic and firefighter I, has been with the county since August, 2004.  “Lillie is an extremely dedicated employee that is willing to take on any job to assist our service,” said Emergency Services Director Billy Thurmond.   She constantly demonstrates a positive attitude.”

Lillie, who expressed surprise in the announcement, was generous in her gratitude.  “We as paramedics work hard every day to bring care and comfort to our community,” she noted.  “Though I don’t feel that one of us can really stand out more than the other, it is great to feel our efforts appreciated.  It was a proud moment for me to tell my family of this award and I am grateful to the administration for the opportunity.”
