The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced the addition of a new Wildflower auto tag set to "blossom" in county tag offices during the first week of August.
The newly-designed Wildflower tag features a lifelike image of the Purple Coneflower Wildflower, an absolutely stunning native Georgian perennial that blooms between the months of June and October.
The one-time $25 purchase fee is the only guaranteed source of funding for the Georgia DOT Wildflower Program.
Georgia DOT Commissioner Gena Abraham said, “I’m very excited about offering a new Wildflower tag to Georgia’s citizens. Sales of the tag will support the Georgia DOT Wildflower Program which is dedicated to roadside beautification and enhancement. By buying a Wildflower tag, citizens can support the program and see their investment blooming whenever they travel on Georgia’s interstates and state routes.”
Along with the new tag, the Department’s “Blackeyed Susan” tag will still be available.
The Georgia Department of Transportation is committed to providing a safe, seamless and sustainable transportation system that supports Georgia’s economy and is sensitive to both its citizens and its environment. For general information on the Georgia DOT, please visit www.dot.state.ga.us.
