The Dawson Chamber of Commerce & CVB has been awarded matching funds by the Georgia Tourism Foundation for marketing projects. 

This award came close to the maximum level awarded, and we will be eligible for $19,850 to expand our multi-media tourism marketing campaign to promote “Dawson County.” 

We will also benefit from additional exposure provided by grants awarded to our partner organizations that include Hospitality Highway and Northeast Georgia Mountains Travel Association. 

This year, the Georgia Tourism Foundation awarded $1million in funds to 86 projects. The program will fund projects in Dawson and throughout Georgia that will reach a large audience through the matching funds. Independent judges scored the applications based on several factors including project goals and objectives, benefit to the community, positive economic impact, and the ability to attract and service visitors.
