Dawson County sheriff’s authorities say they expect 44-year-old Dahlonega resident Vivian Miles turned herself in Wednesday to face 22 counts of computer theft.
Dawson County sheriff’s investigators obtained 22 arrest warrants against Miles late Tuesday afternoon signed by Dawson County Chief Magistrate Judge Johnny Holtzclaw.
According to Dawson County sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Tony Wooten, Miles worked in the office of Pennington Co., a Dawsonville accounting firm. She is accused of taking $93,300 from a company escrow account over a 22-month period.
“Ms. Miles was taking money without authority from her employer Warren Pennington. She did this every month from July 2006 to April 2008, a total of 22 months,” Wooten said. “She is no longer employed with Pennington Co.”
Detectives worked out an agreement with Miles’ attorney to allow her to turn herself in on Wednesday at the Dawson County Law Enforcement Center, Wooten said.
Judge Holtzclaw set bail for Miles at $35,000, Dawson County jail records show.
