Want to feel like you’re on vacation without gas prices breaking your wallet? There's another option that's really close to home this summer.  Escape to the "Islands" and kick back at the new Tiki Hut at Lake Lanier Islands Resort. Located on the water's edge, this casual, open-air eatery and watering hole is the perfect place to chill out, soak up some rays and enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Lanier.

Grab a hamburger, hotdog or some chicken tenders and leave the grilling to the Lake Lanier folks, or just relax, sip on a refreshing Tiki libation and watch the boats go by. Opening Friday, May 23, 2008, all are invited to come enjoy this new lakeside Tiki Hut at Lake Lanier Islands Resort, Tuesdays through Sundays, 12:00 p.m. until sunset. The new Tiki Hut is located near the Harbor Landing Boat Rentals and gas dock (to the left of the old PineIsle Resort boat docks) and near the Lake Lanier Islands Beach and WaterPark.

Most people that have been on the lake a while remember the old days of the PineIsle Tiki Hut that gave boaters a place to relax with friends and family after a long day on the lake. The new Tiki Hut at Lake Lanier Islands Resort will provide a similar atmosphere and will be adding more entertainment and menu options throughout the summer as the demand grows.  Lake Lanier staffers would like to know what you think and what you'd like to see more of at the new Tiki Hut, so when you come, bring your ideas with you.

Boaters are welcome and encouraged to dock in the free dock spaces located directly in front of the Tiki Hut.

The new Tiki Hut will be open on Monday, May 26, 2008, for Memorial Day from 12:00 p.m. until sunset.
