SAFE KIDS of Dawson County Performs Car Seat Safety Checks

On April 17, 2008, members of SAFE KIDS of Dawson County provided car seat safety checks at Dawson County Head Start. 

EMS Chief Lanier Swafford reported over 60 safety checks were conducted. 22 car seats were distributed as replacements for seats with various faults and eight were given to parents without appropriate child restraints. 

A variety of car seats ranging from infant seats to booster seats were provided by SAFE KIDS of Dawson County.

This local coalition is dedicated to fighting the number one killer of children - unintentional injuries. Dawson County is part of the National SAFE KIDS Campaign in Washington, D.C., and a part of SAFE KIDS of Georgia.

SAFE KIDS of Georgia in Dawson County is a non-profit organization and depends on the support of the local community for financial needs, and dedicated volunteers to maintain a successful coalition.
