Lanier Technical College, Dawsonville campus, is holding a free Wellness Fair and Open House on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 from 1:00 to 3:30.
Many community resources will be on hand to offer free information and services to the public, including free cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, and vision screening, as well as strength testing to name a few. The community will also have an opportunity to donate blood as Life South Community Blood Bank will be on campus.
This is the first annual event which allows the public to visit the campus and explore the many opportunities Lanier Technical College offers and for current students to interact with community organizations. On hand will be representatives from Legacy Link Area Agency on Aging, District II Public Health, Tompkins Family Chiropractic Center, NGMC Physical Therapy, and various Dawson County resources such as the Health Department, Sheriff’s Department, Fire Department, and Senior Center.
The Forsyth campus of Lanier Tech held a similar Wellness Fair on August 8, 2007. Over 170 people attended the first annual event which was a great success, especially when it was 108 degrees outside that day, according to Jennifer Pulliam, the Lanier Tech event coordinator.
The Dawson Campus is located at 89 Tiger Circle in downtown Dawsonville.
