(Updated Dec 26, 2006)

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a wind advisory, which is in effect from noon today, Thursday, to midnight EST tonight.

A strong low pressure system will move into the Ohio Valley this evening. Southerly winds will be increasing ahead of this low during the afternoon, bringing moisture and warm air into North and Central Georgia. The advisory area is generally along and north of a Columbus to Athens line.

A wind advisory means that sustained winds of 20 to 35 mph or wind gusts of at least 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
