At 3:01 p.m. EDT, the National Weather Service in peachtree city issued a County flood warning for small streams, creeks and roads in, northern Forsyth county until 7:00 p.m. EDT. At 2:56 p.m. EDT, National Weather Service doppler radar indicated that 1 to 2 inches of rain has fallen across northern Forsyth county since 2:00 pm. An additional 1 to 2 inches is expected through 4:00 pm which will cause flooding. Even after the rain has ended, runoff will continue to keep creeks and streams at very high levels.

Some locations in the flood warning area include Matt, Silver City, Ducktown and Chestatee.

Do not attempt to cross water of unknown depth by foot or automobile. If your vehicle stalls, abandon it immediately and seek higher ground. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when water begins rising.

A county flood warning means that minor flooding of streams, creeks and roads is expected. This may cause some minor inconveniences to the public, but property damage or threat to life should be minimal.
