Recently I had the opportunity to spend a morning at Serenity.  From the moment I arrived, I experienced personalized service that was both welcoming and relaxing. 

I began with the slimming and nourishing body wrap.  This herbal wrap is an ancient Egyptian recipe designed to remove toxins from the body creating a slimming effect.  “Keeping the body in a detoxified state makes it easier to lose weight,” according to Serenity’s owner Sharon Keating.  “A body wrap is a great way to get this process going; along with a change in diet.”  I was first measured, then the mixture of Bentonite clay, sea salt, extracts of green tea, bladderwrack, cypress, lemongrass and grapefruit was applied and I was properly wrapped and made very comfortable under a warm blanket.

While resting, Sharon began to prepare for my next indulgence—a luxurious, chocolate thermal facial.  She began by cleansing and exfoliating my skin.  This works as a “mini facial peel” and I must admit my face has never felt cleaner. Sharon then evaluated my skin for its own particular characteristics and needs.  Admittedly, she found a bit of sun damage.  Sharon is a believer in full sun protection and recommends titanium “because to date, that is the only product that blocks the aging rays.”  SPF products do not aid in preventing aging.

Sharon then applied a vitamin C mask followed by the sumptuous chocolate layer. The purpose of the chocolate thermal clay mask, according to Sharon, “is indulgence, but also aids the vitamin C layer to penetrate the skin.”   “You get a really revitalizing antioxidant treatment while being pampered,” Sharon affirms.  From my perspective it was pure indulgence, no matter the extraordinary health benefits it provided.  The aroma alone was quite intoxicating. 

Following my relaxing facial and the completion of my herbal wrap, I showered and was ready to be measured.  Sure enough, I was four inches smaller than when I arrived.  Not only did I lose inches, my skin felt completely rejuvenated and my entire body was in an amazing state of relaxation.
