Vacation Reading Program Registration at Chestatee Regional Library Begins June 4

'Reading Takes You Everywhere' this summer at Chestatee Regional Library System! Registration for the Vacation Reading Program begins June 4, 2007. Families are invited to participate by reading books, completing family literacy activities, and attending special programs at Dawson and Lumpkin County Libraries.

Chestatee Regional Library System offers reading programs for children (through grade 5) and teens (grades 6-12). When you come into the library to sign up, you’ll receive all the information you need to get you started and keep you reading throughout the summer. Programs will be held on Wednesdays at Dawson County Library and on Thursdays at Lumpkin County Library, with shows at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Be sure to mark your calendar for all of the fun and exciting programs:

Teens are invited to get 'Lost in Time' at the library by reading books and coming to the library each week for creative programs. Kids in grades 6-12 can register for their Passport to Reading that will guide them on their travels through time and books! Programs will be held on Wednesdays at Dawson County Library and on Thursdays at Lumpkin County Library, with shows at 4:00 p.m. The line-up for teen programs is:

June 27/28 Duct Tape Craft Workshop

July 11/12 CSI @ the Library

July 18/19 Comic Book Illustration Workshop with Kyle Puttkammer from Galactic Quest

Chestatee Regional Library System has two branches serving Dawson and Lumpkin Counties. Dawson County Library is located near downtown Dawsonville at 342 Allen Street. Dawson County Library hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lumpkin County Library is located across from the Lumpkin County Courthouse at 342 Courthouse Hill. Lumpkin County Library hours are Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For information about our services, visit either library, call 706-344-3690 or 706-864-3668, or visit www.chestateelibrary.org.
