Kohl’s Donates Nearly $363,000 to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta

Published Aug 17, 2007

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Kohl’s presented a fun wrap-up to summer and a smart start for the school year with the Kohl’s Cares for Kids Healthy Back-to-School Fair at Kohl’s location in Roswell, which featured a carnival-like atmosphere for the kids and top tips for parents delivered by Children’s representatives. Kohl’s also enhanced the health of important Children’s initiatives at the event, presenting a check for $362,532 in support of the Kohl’s School Nurse Consultant/Liaison Program. The program provides school staff and health workers a reliable source of medical expertise to allow children to fully participate in school by ensuring that their health needs are met during the school day. Kohl’s has supported Children’s since 2002 and now has donated more than $2 million to the not-for-profit organization.

“Kohl’s support over the past few years has been critical to the success of several Children’s initiatives – especially child health and advocacy,” said Scott Hodoval, vice president of development for the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation. “Children’s mission is grounded in enhancing the lives of children, and Kohl’s has been a valuable partner in advancing that through its support of patient care and health education.”
