The Holly Theatre in Dahlonega is holding auditions for Nunsense in March. Nunsense is a hilarious talent show staged by five survivors of the Little Sisters of Hoboken nunnery, after the rest of the sisters died from food poisoning after eating vichyssoise prepared by Sister Julia, Child of God.

The remaining 'Little Hobos' parade their talents at a variety show staged to raise funds so that the last four of the dearly departed can be buried. Nunsense offers a cornucopia of hilarity for the whole family, proving conclusively that nun rhymes with fun.

Audition dates and times at the Holly are as follows:

March 12 and March 14
6 to 9 p.m.
Callbacks, if needed, will be held March 15 at 6 p.m.

Nunsense Performance Dates:

May 14- 31
Thursday - Saturday at 8 p.m.
Sunday at 2 p.m.

Auditioners should prepare a musical number or prepare at least a one minute up-tempo and one minute Broadway-style ballad. Bring sheet or recorded music; a cappella auditions are not acceptable; the theater will provide an accompanist and CD player.

Dress comfortably for stage movement. If you can tap and/or dance en pointe, bring the appropriate shoes and be prepared to demonstrate for one minute. Auditions also will include cold readings from the script.

Parts are available for five women ranging in apparent age from late teens through senior citizen.
