I recently tasted a Cabernet Sauvignon which was so good, that it was hard for me to believe that it retailed for less than ten dollars. This is exactly the type of value that we search high and low for, but seldom find!
This wine was made in the Margaret River area of southwest Australia, where 3% of all the wine made in Australia comes from. However Margaret River produces 20% of all of the premium wine made in Australia. The climate there is influenced by the Indian Ocean and is much like the Mediterranean climate, having no extreme temperatures. The surrounding landscape varies from towering forests to rugged coastlines with sandy beaches, which have become a surfing mecca. In the Spring the area is ablaze with wildflower color. Sounds like a beautiful place to make wine. And some of the best and most expensive wines from Australia come from Margaret River.
The 2003 Wandering Wallaby Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon is not one of those expensive wines. It is however a very good bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon! This is not a big heavy Cabernet, but it is bursting with flavor. The nose abounds with raspberry, and currants. The taste explodes with bright cherry and red raspberry with subtle nuances of vanilla and oak. The flavors are lush and lingering with a smooth and lasting finish. I could drink this one all day long by itself, but I suggest you try it with your favorite grilled meat!
We had this 2003 vintage in the store about a month ago, and it was so popular that we sold out in just a couple of weeks. We have just received a new shipment of the same 2003 vintage, so if you did not sample any the last time, don't miss out on this opportunity. If you were lucky enough to try this wine and want more, come get a case while supplies last.

Besides having interesting facts, it is good to have someone who can find these good wines at such a good price.
