Featured Artists

Athens Guitar Trio

Formed in 2005, the Athens Guitar Trio has quickly found their musical stride. Each of the three members – Rylan Smith, Dusty Woodruff and Matt Anderson – bring talent and work ethic to the group, resulting in highly musical and technical performances. For four consecutive years, the members of the Athens Guitar Trio have been chosen to play in the final recital at the Christopher Parkening Master classes in Montana, as well as studying as a group with Christopher Parkening in his master classes in 2005. They have premiered several pieces composed specifically for them.

duoATL

DuoATL was founded in 2005 by classical guitarist Brian Luckett and flutist and composer Nicole Randall. The duo aspires to explore the intriguing and ever growing repertoire written for flute and guitar. This dynamic pairing of instruments has inspired a great diversity of composers to write for it, resulting in an exciting body of repertoire from the 20th and continuing into the 21st century. In addition to performing and recording music from the current repertoire, duoATL aims to bring both newly commissioned and original music to the concert stage.

John Sutherland

Guitarist John Sutherland was described in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as the "Dean of Guitarists." He studied with Andres Segovia, Christopher Parkening, John Marlow, Jose Tomas, and Evangelos Assimakopoulous. Since starting the guitar program at the University of Georgia in 1971, Sutherland has been responsible for initiating numerous guitar programs in the state, including those at Georgia State, Dekalb College, and Columbus College. Sutherland has taught with Christopher Parkening in master classes at Montana State University since 1978. Parkening calls Sutherland "one of the finest teachers in the United States."

Luther Enloe

Luther Enloe has been entertaining listeners with his guitar for more than a decade and is noted for his resonant sound quality, sensitive musicianship and lyrical phrasing. While concertizing in North America with solo guitar repertoire, Enloe has appeared also as soloist with many ensembles including the Montana State University Chorale, the Dekalb Choral Guild, and Peachtree Symphonic Winds. Enloe has won awards in the Georgia Music Educators Association Competitions, including the Award of Excellence in 1996 and 1998. Enloe teaches guitar at Berry College and Georgia College and State University.

Esteban G. Anastasio

With an eclectic musical background Esteban Anastasio has created a unique voice as a classical musician and solo artist. A highly sought after flamenco and fusion guitarist in the Atlanta area, he has studied with a wide range of guitarists including Ernesto Bitetti, Ede Wright, and Rusty Cooley. Anastasio owns the Apollo Conservatory and runs Georgia’s only Childbloom Guitar Program.
