The Dawson Art Council is offering some great classes this summer, including mixed media art camps, basket making classes and writing and drawing camps:

Mixed-Media Art Camps

Week 1
June 9-13 (M-F) 10-12pm Teacher: Laura Jones
$70. per student (includes supplies)
Ages: 4-6 years
Come explore the world of painting and drawing, while having loads of fun!

Week 2
June 16-20 (M-F) 10-12pm
$70 per student (includes supplies)
Ages: 4-6 years

Week 1

Various art mediums such as colored pencils, pastels,
Watercolors and much more will be used...so let your creative ideas flow! Don’t miss this class!

Week 2
June 16-20 (M-F) 1:30-3:30
$70. per student (includes supplies)
Ages: 7-12
Take what you’ve learned from Week 1 and use it in different ways like ribbon weaving, splash art, sponge-stencil art, and paper weaving!  Don’t miss this!

It’s A Big, Wide Mixed-Media World Camp
June 23-27 (M-F) 10-1pm Teacher: Shannon Mulkey $145. per student (includes supplies)
Ages: 6-11
Everyday offers a new adventure from the depths of the sea to the far reaches of space! We will explore our
imaginations creating 2d and 3d projects including drawing,painting, collage, clay, printmaking, sculpture and more!

It’s A Big, Wide ‘Mixed-Media’ World Camp
June 23-27 (M-F) 2-5pm Teacher: Shannon Mulkey
$145. per student (includes supplies)
Ages: 12-16
This creative camp offers an intro into the modern arts and crafts scene. Each day will be structured to suite a ‘Teen’s’ needs! There will be something different everyday including screen printing, t-shirt reconstruction, plush making, embroidery, visual journaling, modern art techniques with recycled materials and more!

Before and After Drawing Camp
June 23-27 (M-F) 10-12pm Teacher: Laura Jones
$70. per student (includes supplies)
Ages: 11-15
Do you ever think about the shape of things! Everywhere you look there are lines, form, color! If you know the basics, you can create amazing art!

Are You An Aspiring Writer?
June 23-27 (M-F) 1-3pm Teacher: Laura Jones
$55. per student
Ages: 11-15
Do you have a story, poem or keep a daily journal? You could have hidden writing talent, and we want to help you ‘polish’ it and present it! Also, a surprise is in store!
PS: Bring stories and poems you have already written!

‘TI2C’ Basket!
June 18th (Wednesday) 10-12pm Teacher: Jan Stansell
$20. per student (includes supplies)
Ages: 11-14
Handmade baskets can be created from variety of pretty cool things. You will make an amazing basket in one day!

Summer Camps take place at the Bowen Center for the Arts.
