I recently reported on the quality Sauvignon Blanc wines coming out of New Zealand, so that when a local distributor wanted to close one out to make room for the new vintage, we bought half of what they had left. This would be the 2005 Seven Terraces Sauvignon Blanc. I of course, sampled the wine before we bought it and I thought it was wonderful.
The Wine Spectator scores this wine an 89, and described it as "Lithe and lively. A juicy mouthful of lime-scented apple, with hints of licorice and pepper as the flavors linger. Drink now."
I loved the fresh citrus appeal with grassy undertones, but did not detect the taste of licorice. The wine finishes clean with the green apple flavor lingering on. I felt that this wine is definitely an 89-90 score and a real value at only $11.99, since it was released to sell at the fifteen to sixteen dollar range.

I enjoyed this article and learning about the wines.
Whenever I read Mr. Bentley's comments, I can almost taste the wine! His ideas are quite helpful to my wife and me when we plan to have folks over.
A very interesting and informative article. Makes me want to sample new wines. I also like the authors last name.
Thanks for the recommendation. I usually drink the Pinot Noir, but this one sounds good. I'll have to give it a try.
