With 2008 being the year Dawson County's first animal shelter will open (slated for February), the first Dawson County Humane Society board meeting of 2008 should be an exciting one.  Scheduled for this Thursday, January 3, the meeting is open to everyone interested in making the County's new shelter a wonderful success story.  The Board meets at United Community Bank in downtown old Dawsonville on Hwy. 53 West, just west of the old Courthouse in the center of town.  Meetings begin at 6 pm and usually end around 8 pm. 

Construction is nearly complete and the Board has much yet left to accomplish before the actual opening.  All are encouraged to attend, listen to important updates and learn how to become involved in helping to get the much-needed shelter open.
