Sherry Stoppelbein’s Hot Shot Bakery is hosting a kids breakfast recipe contest because today’s children are often cooking for themselves, their siblings and even their parents. “It’s time to honor our children and give them an opportunity to win a trip to America’s Oldest City” according to Stoppelbein, successful caterer, Mom and Grandmom. (St. Augustine was ranked ‘Best Family Vacation Town in the Southeast’ by Family Fun Magazine, 2001 and broadcast on NBC TV’s Today Show by Al Roker.) 

Hot Shot Bakery invites all children up to age 14 to turn one of their favorite breakfast recipes into a family getaway for up to 4 people. All they have to do is submit the recipe and a brief 50-word story about someone in their family that would appreciate their breakfast dish and why. According to Stoppelbein, family relationships often blossom in the kitchen with children helping out busy parents, taking care of other family members or just enjoying their own creativity with food. 

The Grand Prize is a 2-night stay on the SeaClusion, the most unique Bed-&-Boat accommodation in St. Augustine; perfect for a family of up to 4 people. It’s permanently docked in the center of all of St. Augustine’s treasures, awaiting families that possess a spirit of adventure.  Its cabin accommodates 1-4 guests with 2 full bathrooms. Guests relax within steps of the ‘old city’ that combine the amenities of a fine bed and breakfast in the adventurous setting of a luxurious yacht. Submit your recipe (no more than one page) with a brief paragraph about someone in the family who would enjoy & appreciate the dish.

Entries must be submitted by July 1, 2007 to: Hot Shot Bakery, 1962 U.S. #1 South, St. Augustine, Florida 32086.

Upon submission, all recipes become the property of Hot Shot Bakery, which reserve the right to edit, adapt, copyright, publish and use any portion for promotion or publicity.

The winner will be notified by telephone by July 15, 2007.
