The total project cost will be approximately $450,000, with 75% of funds coming from the Georgia DOT and the 25% remaining funds from City of Gainesville.
The Georgia DOT State Transportation Board Chairman Mike Evans announces the award of $300,000 in State funds to the Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport in Gainesville to assist with the installation of MALSR Approach Lighting System and Precision Runway Markings on Runway 4/22.
“We are very pleased to be partnering with the Gainesville community to improve a vital transportation facility, Lee Gilmer Airport.” Chairman Evans said. “The City of Gainesville and Hall County have been very willing and worthy partners in working with us to make improvements in all phases of transportation; pedestrian, roadway, transit and airports. I am proud to bring this award personally to the people and business community of Gainesville Hall County.”
