Kiwanis One Day Service Project with Keep Dawson County Beautiful

Published Apr 11, 2008

Beginning Monday, April 14 and concluding Saturday, April 19, 2008, the Kiwanis Club of Dawson County and Keep Dawson County Beautiful will jointly sponsor a used telephone book collection and recycling project. From April 14 through April 19, collection bins will be available and located at Mountain State Bank’s Georgia Highway 400 office located at 6602 Highway 53 East, downtown at the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce’s office (also on Georgia Highway 53), at Rock Creek Park off of Georgia Highway 9 and Veterans’ Memorial Park. Once collected by the members of the Kiwanis Club, these old telephone books will be delivered to the Olde Atlanta Recycling facility in Cumming, Georgia. There is no cost to the participating public for this recycling effort.

Adam Smith, Mountain State Bank Assistant Vice President, Board Member of the Kiwanis Club of Dawson County and Board Member for Keep Dawson County Beautiful is the organizer and coordinator for this important recycling effort. Smith indicated that “this recycling effort presents a great opportunity for Keep Dawson County Beautiful to leverage the resources of the Kiwanis Club of Dawson County. I’m delighted to be a member of each of these fine community service organizations.” Special thanks are also offered to Byrds Mini Storage, Mountain State Bank, Olde Atlanta Recycling Center, the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce and Dawson County Parks and Recreation for their important support and advocacy for this event and these service organizations.
