Keep Dawson Beautiful, partnering with Home Depot and Sawnee EMC, encourages everyone to “go green” by recycling Christmas trees.
Bring One for the Chipper, the state’s annual Christmas tree recycling program, invites all Dawson residents to bring their Christmas trees to the Dawsonville Home Depot drop-off site on January 5, 2008 between 10 am – 2 pm.
Celebrating 18 years in Georgia, the program successfully transforms 'Chipper' trees into mulch for playgrounds, public beautification projects, wildlife habitat and homeowner landscaping projects. Last year more than 240,000 Georgia trees were collected and recycled.
Dawson County 2008 'Chipper' trees are destined for use at the new canoe launch located on SR 9 at the Etowah River.
Please remove all decorations and bring your tree to the recycling center located in the Dawsonville Home Depot parking lot. While supplies last, all who participate in the recycling effort will receive a free dogwood seedling.
