Cedar Hill Enrichment Center was founded by Sister June Racicot and Sister Kathryn Cliatt, Adrian Dominican Sisters who came to Forsyth County over 32 years ago to do poverty work. After founding such non-profits as The Place, Family Haven, Georgia Highlands Medical Services, Shepherds Purse and about five others -- including bringing the United Way chapter to the county -- they converted the small goat farm they lived and worked on into a spiritual retreat center and center for ecology and sustainable living. Both Sisters reside on the property and are still active at Cedar Hill, although they have stepped down as directors of the Center.
