Celebrating Mary Magdalene in the Sophian Gnostic Tradition

Published Jul 12, 2007

Sunday, July 22nd is the Feast Day set aside by the exoteric Church to honor St. Mary Magdalene. Those at Cedar Hill will gather from 1:00-5:30 p.m. to celebrate her life from the Sophian Gnostic perspective, an esoteric tradition formally passed orally from teacher to student. Her story is given in four parts:

Prophetic revelations of her birth
Her birth and early life
Her journey into Babylon and return from exile
Union with her Beloved

Mary Magdalene’s life is the story of the human psyche’s development; however, it is particularly well understood by women. The Cedar Hill staff asks visitors to come prepared to open their hearts and share with their sisters in sacred circle.

Facilitator: Peggy Simms is a licensed clinical social worker who practices in historic Roswell. Trained with an emphasis on marriage and family therapy, she also spent time as a family mediator in the north Georgia court systems. She seeks to marry traditional psychotherapy with energy work through the practice of Reiki, Aura-Soma, and crystal bowl therapy. Peggy facilitates spiritual circles on a variety of topics including study of the Gnostic texts, the chakras, the Wheel of Life, and Mary Magdalene and Yeshua.
Worskhop Fee: $40.00
