What if the sale of a simple t-shirt could bring together a million Americans in a special way and share the profits with specific charities geared toward helping Americans in need? This idea became a reality when Atlanta-based company 2ReachaMillion launched their website on February 4, 2008.
Keith Miller and Jeff Stephen of Atlanta wondered -- how would it be possible to unite a million Americans from across the country? The 2ReachaMillion campaign started as an idea in September 2006 and has now become a real vision, and that is, to sell 1,000,000 t-shirts and to donate $5 to a participating charity for each t-shirt sold.
Every 2ReachaMillion t-shirt is a unique one-of-a-kind creation. Each shirt is individually numbered on the front of the shirt. To make their vision unique, the company has devised a system to acknowledge each and every person who participates in the mission.
When a supporter buys a t-shirt from the website, the company's system will automatically generate a unique number which matches the t-shirt a supporter receives. As with any numbered product, the lowered numbered shirts have the potential to become novelty items. 2ReachaMillion is already withholding certain low numbered t-shirts with the expectation of auctioning them off for participating charities.
2ReachaMillion raise funds for American charities which serve the social, health care and environmental issues that are of most concern to Americans today. Each time a supporter purchases a 2ReachaMillion t-shirt, the purchaser has the opportunity to become part of something special, to be part of a “one-in-a-million-mission.”
The goal is to sell one million t-shirts -- starting with the number 0000001 and eventually reaching the number 1000000. 2ReachaMillion is donating $5 from the sale of every numbered t-shirt to one of their participating charities: Earth Share, Meals on Wheels Association of America, The Breast Cancer Fund and The Autism Society of America.
2ReachaMillion is proud to offer a 100% organic product. Shirts are made by Anvil Knitwear, a leading manufacturer and designer of 100% organic cotton T's and garments. All t-shirts are made in an environmentally-friendly manufacturing process.
Founder and President of 2ReachaMillion, Keith Miller, recalls how he came up with the idea of uniquely-numbering t-shirts for charities. “As an advertising and marketing professional, I marketed ads that could be tracked based on a specific number assigned to each ad. A business owner could track their advertising because each ad had a unique number attached to it." Similarly, each 2ReachaMillion shirt has its own unique number and is assigned to an individual buyer.
"I wondered if I could make a difference by creating something that not only would be exciting to be a part of, but would brand a t-shirt and a logo as a sign of unity in the country as well," stated Miller. "Each year, on the first Saturday after Labor Day, we will ask all those who have participated to wear their shirts and apparel as a show of unity among Americans -- 'Unity Day.' Remember, every T-shirt is unique with an individual number. The T-shirt can become an exciting keepsake for those who support our mission and own the first few thousand shirts," he continued.
2ReachaMillion is a Subchapter S corporation registered in the state of Georgia. The primary emphasis of 2ReachaMillion is to raise money for select American-based charities. www.2ReachaMillion.com

Great article! This is a tremendous program that you have put together. I'm going to the website and purchase my t-shirt now.
Would love to partner.. folks who support this great project can keep it going by having 20% of their purchases from a safe, natural, 'green', 50+ year old company targeted to their favorite cause. Choose your cause from a local school fundraisier to a national charity. Please visit www.GiveToYourCause.com.
This is absolutely great. I can help getting more people to know about this. I think it's an awesome concept especially if it can help united a country in a positive way. Glad I stumbled across this and will share it with all my friends.
This is a great idea! I support your mission and will tell everyone I know! Looking forward to Unity Day!!!!
This is an amazing concept.
Keith, I wish you much success in this wonderful venture. I will have my t-shirt on Unity Day. I will also share this with everyone!
There are 303,523,489 people in the United States. [To reach] 1,000,000 PEOPLE is a fraction of our total population...less than 1 percent (0.33%). That means we have more than enough people in America to help "ReachaMillion". I hope this vision will soon be realized and that we WILL raise $5 million to the charities. I look forward to the Unity Day! Best wishes to 2ReachaMillion....
