Advanced Disposal Services, Inc., a Southeast regional provider of integrated solid waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services, will sponsor the third annual 'Fun in the Field' spring festival at Eagle Point Landfill at 8880 Old Federal Road in Ball Ground, Georgia, on May 2, 2009 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
Each year Advanced Disposal hosts the festival at Eagle Point Landfill in northwest Forsyth County to benefit the Forsyth County School System. The event not only provides fun for the community, but also promotes recycling and environmental awareness.
Five Forsyth County elementary schools will participate in a recycling competition with cash prizes from $1000 to the grand prize of $5000. The participating schools are Cumming, Coal Mountain, Matt, Silver City and Chestatee.
Visitors to the Festival will have an array of activities and entertainment to choose from including pony rides, petting zoo, moon walks, rock climbing and face painting. All activities are free. Concession stands will be sponsored by the participating schools’ PTAs and will sell items such as popcorn, candy, boiled peanuts, homemade baked goods and chili cheese dogs.
Marcie Kreager, Community Affairs Manager, notes that Eagle Point takes pride in their well- kept and clean facility. “We invite our friends and neighbors to come out and enjoy an afternoon of fun. 'Fun in the Field' is our way of supporting our local schools and saying thank you to our community.”
