The Spring 2009 Tour of Homes, set for May 2, 2009, will be the first of its kind to benefit local residents and charities of neighboring Forsyth County. Spearheaded by The Sawnee Woman's Club, in conjunction with Smith Jackson Properties, the public will be given the opportunity to share in the 2009 charitable activities of The Sawnee Woman's Club.

Determined to increase their charitable impact in 2009, Sawnee Woman's Club has proactively joined forces with Smith Jackson Properties for their 24th Annual Fundraising Event and created a Tour of Homes that welcomes the public to join in their core value of meeting the unmet needs of Forsyth County.

This year's inaugural Tour of Homes event will include three custom-built homes by Smith Jackson Properties, all on an estate-style setting off of Hansard Drive, in Forsyth County. Angela and David Wahlbom, owners of Smith Jackson Properties, affirmed, "We have respected the impact of Sawnee Woman's Club on people's lives and we are proud to be affiliated with such a worthwhile event as The Tour of Homes." 

Attendees will have the opportunity to admire fresh design ideas, check out the latest home innovations, learn about the newest building techniques, and register for several raffles throughout the day

"The success of the event is based on how much the community embraces it," said Kristin Joyner, Sawnee Woman's Club president.  "The event provides the opportunity for every attendee to give back to the Forsyth County community. If only 1,000 of the 160,000 residents of Forsyth County attend the event, Sawnee Woman's Club will raise $20,000 to donate to local charities. Moreover, there are additional opportunities to donate through the VIP Patron Party, advertising sponsorships, silent auction, and raffle sales. We are confident that Forsyth County has the sense of community to welcome an event like this and truly take it to a new level and exceed the fundraising goal of $80,000."

Event hours are as follows:

10 a.m. - 4 p.m. --  Tours of three Smith-Jackson Properties homes (open to the public)

6 p.m. - 11 p.m. -- VIP Patron Party with live entertainment, dinner, and silent auction (ticketed event)

4770, 4780, and 4790 Hansard Road

Hansard Road is located in West Forsyth County, off of Pittman Road, just 1-1/2 miles from the intersection of Bethelview Road and Kelly Mill Road.   

The cost is $20 for the daytime Tour of Homes event, and $75 for the evening VIP Patron Party, featuring entertainment, dinner, and a silent auction. Tickets for the event may be purchased at The Sawnee Woman's Club and various businesses around the community.
