The Eisenhower Series College Program (ESCP), sponsored by the U.S. Army War College, will visit North Georgia College & State University on April 6 to encourage dialogue on national security and other public policy issues between the ESCP panel and audience members.
The ESCP panel, comprised of career U.S. armed services officers, will hold an open forum in the Gloria Shott Performance Hall at 6 p.m. on the North Georgia campus. As part of the forum, which is open to the entire campus and the community, the panel will introduce topics and engage in discussion and a question-and-answer session with the audience.
Each member on the panel, which includes three career U.S. Army officers and one career U.S. Marine Corps officer, serves as an expert on specific national public policy issues.
U.S Army Reserve Lt. Col. Irene Glaeser will discuss the impact of illegal immigration on homeland security and how to enforce U.S. laws and protect America’s heritage.
Col. Jack Monroe of the U.S. Marine Corps will address threats to U.S. national security posed by failed and failing nation states. He will discuss how and when it may be possible to prevent collapsing governments and when to use selective military engagement if necessary.
U.S. Army Col. Glenn Richie will engage the audience in a perhaps lesser known topic of the United States' nation-building in Africa and how the U.S. has modeled its efforts on a war-torn continent.
U.S. Army Col. Steve Williamson will round out the panel and lead a discussion of “The Future of Warfare in a Strategic Environment of Unpredictable Challenges, Threats, and Opportunities."
Each year, several of the U.S. Army War College's students participate in the Eisenhower Series College Program and travel around the country to engage in discussions with other students, academics and the public about national security issues and the employment of military assets.
The Eisenhower Series College Program is the U.S. Army War College’s communication and outreach program designed to encourage dialogue on national security and other public policy issues. The program focuses its efforts on students and faculty at academic institutions, professional organizations, civic groups, business organizations, and local media.
